How about a massive protest outside of City Hall and boycott the pretend public hearing inside? There's been plenty of passionate and even eloquent speechafying made about various issues in recent years, and they've made little to no difference at all on the people who have the say-so that stare blankly down at the little citizens who were naively thinking that they were participating in a real democratic process. Whether its the many issues related to gas drilling, the TRV, or limiting citizens' access to public pools and libraries, Mikey and his crew had already made their decisions behind closed doors. They just tolerate the legal requirements of "hearing" from citizens on Tuesday nights. They listen but don't really hear anything. The best that a long line of speechifying normally produce is a delay on the official vote. After the public loses their passion after a period of delay, this mayor and his cronies slip whatever vote through when there's less public attention being paid.
Have you been appalled by what you see on the "news" happening in the communities? Ever been disturbed by the lack of coverage or the lack of facts shared by the media? Who knows more about what is going on in your community? A reporter with a deadline or informed citizens? Have you ever attended a city meeting? Are you concerned with your current leadership? Ever written a Letter to the Editor that was edited beyond recognition? Or not printed at all? Let us know what's going on in your cities, help to educate your neighbors. The things taking place now are regional and affect all of us. Exercise your right to be informed!

Cynical? maybe. Truthful? Yes.
