Today, Betsy Price will be sworn in as the new Mayor of Fort Worth.
We wonder if Mayor Moncrief and Rosie will be rolling in their new ride to the ceremony. Seems they drove their 2011 Rolls Royce to Betsy's campaign gathering on election night. We hear it was quite a sight to see, with no tags, plates, etc.
We also hear the price tag was close to $500,000. Pretty good change for a Mayor. Then again, it could have been a gift from some of his "friends".
Let's hope this Price brings some change. We're gonna need it.
We're told the City Council meeting tonight will be moved to the Convention Center. We were then asked, "Aren't most circuses held at the Convention Center?"

How interesting.
I was at Prices' election night party on a casual basis. I saw a Roll's near the entrance (light colored) when I arrived and when I left. Very up front and center. As I sat in my car awaiting my friend after 10:00 p.m., i saw Mayor M. and wife exit the restaurant and climb into the city issued black SUV (in the back of the lot) and drive away. Like him or not, it was a poignant moment. The Rolls never moved.
Is your story factual about his election night departure in a Rolls?
Anon-
Are you saying Mayor M and wife didn't have a driver for their city issued SUV that night??
We appreciate your input, if you're a regular visitor, you know many posts come from information from local citizens. It's their way of sharing information since the media plays to big business, not THE PEOPLE.
In the history of Star-Telegraph we have learned the majority of what we hear from citizens turns out to be true. Betsy Price is a just one example.
We stated, we "heard" these comments as they came from those Lone Star citizens on the scene election night. We have also seen the pictures of some of them posing with the light colored Rolls. Which we are told, Mayor M claimed to own.
Once it has proper registration, we'd be glad to confirm and update. We aren't the local paper.
Thanks again for your input
Texas Lone Star
You ignored my eye witness account. I saw the Mayor & wife exit the election party and leave in a black SUV--not a Rolls Royce as you reported. Whether who was driving said black SUV is not the point. You REPORTED he drove away in a Rolls Royce. He DID NOT.My lying sober eyes saw it. If the registration shows the Rolls as belonging to Moncrief, I will join 'the people' in clucking over wretched excess. If it does not, will you correct your report? What's the delay in finding out? Still half of your report is still wrong.
"The People" are truly screwed if you do not.
Good job Anonymous! Shame on you Lone Star!!
For not shooting holes in Anon's "lying eyes" story by other reputable eye witness accounts? For posting nameless comments instead of deleting them? Oh yes, for shame...
Thank you Ms. Watkins. And thank you Star Telegraph for not deleting my contrary comments. That, I do appreciate.
Still, I tell you, I was in that parking lot alone, desperate to leave, texting my friend inside to come out so we could get home, when I saw the Mayor & wife exit, without fanfare or escort --and leave--in the SUV. If the Star Telegraph has reports otherwise, I'll be glad to engage their eyewitness account.. The curious Rolls was there long before Moncrief showed up and there when I left. Also a price tag on a Rolls is not even close to a half million--what gives with that. And where are these photos-the one published was not the car I saw. Nor did I see this middle-aged crowd snapping photos of the vehicles or paying it any mind. It was hot outside, folks sought cool temps quickly. Perhaps a few college-aged would do so, but I didn't see that
I apologize for spending so much time on the subject but truth/credibility is important to me.
Anon Lying Eyes -
We've updated the post, as much as we plan to until registration confirmation, which means we added question marks to the title. If you'd like to do the leg work on providing that, we'd be happy to let you. No paid staff around here.
The pictures we saw had no college students, rather - distinguished, upstanding citizens of the community.
All that follow Star Telegraph know we don't share our sources. Unless they request such. They've been providing accurate information for more than two years.
Your last sentence tells us you aren't a fan of the local paper. We hope that means you'll stick around and get involved in some of the important issues we face in the community.
Dear Lone Star, these anonymous people are way too literal. I do not believe you indicated that the Rolls photo in your post was a photo of the former mayor's new Rolls. Obviously it is a photo of a Rolls, used only for illustrative purposes.
Is Suzette Watkins being facetious OR is she showing her unhappiness with "shameful" LoneStar .... for helping expose the incompetence and general nastiness of her pals at MHMR of Tarrant County?? This bully Moncrief seems to be cut from the same cloth as those "bullycrats" at MHMR of Tarrant County, No??
