And this time we aren't talking about a politician. We are talking about the
local "veteran" that needed help to save his dog, Mimi. Turns out he isn't a veteran at all. The group that helped raise money, will give it back.
We think Mimi's owner should be put in a room with real veterans. Or maybe the pound.
I'm just baffled that no one, not even the lawyer or the staff at the bar's pro bono section, didn't take 10-15 minutes to verify this guy's claim as a combat veteran. A computer search or even a quick phone call to the VA and such could have saved a lot of time, energy, and creditibility for every one concerned.
