Thanks to the concern of many citizens, Mimi, the Veteran's dog is being saved! Excellent work Texas Star's!
"I just spoke with Randy Turner's paralegal assistant in Fort Worth and ALL THE MONEY needed HAS been raised and THEN some. Randy's representation was done on a Pro Bono basis with no ac...t...ual expenses incurred. Additionally, Mimi is going to be released after she is spayed AND a veterinarian has agreed to provide free medical service for life for Mimi. Steven Woods is going to be able to keep the dog and arrangements are being made for her release! THANKS to everyone who took an interest in this case! NOW, for those of you who SERIOUSLY considered donating to this effort, take that money and find ANOTHER worthwhile effort to help those of us less fortunate! God bless you all"

It seems that ever since this O&G mayor and his cronies took over the city government, the regular citizens have pretty much always gotten the short end of the stick. All that focus on money that came with the gas rush, which this mayor and his predecessor have promoted whole heartedly (and profited from significantly), has turned this city into one that has lost its moral bearings and priorities. Months of discussion about how many roosters are allowed inside city limits? Millions of money transfers to keep the billion dollar boondoggle afloat? All the while children can't use public pools, have limited access to libraries and community centers, and lay-offs along with decreased basic services. At least there hasn't been any reported instances of police beat downs and tasings to deaths of citizens or police and code enforcement raids on homes.
ReplyDeleteWhile this story highlights the fruits of the so called FW Way, the work by this attorney and the generous response by the community remind us that the American Way is still alive. Just less and less of it is seen due to the corrupting grip that the FW way has on the community, turning the Golden Rule into "we have more gold so we make the rules, that benefit us even more".
